“Marketing on a Shoestring”: Even in the best of times, not everyone has the budget or resources for splashy ad campaigns, extensive direct mail pieces, or teams of staff to sell their event, destination, or venue; in today’s environment, operating efficiently and effectively is that much more a concern, regardless of your sales and marketing budget. This program will identify ways to increase awareness of your event, company, or organization with limited funds, including a review of specific examples and applications to immediately begin using, with a focus upon real-world solutions and ROI. The program is applicable for companies both small and large and for attendees with varying levels of marketing expertise.
Speaker: Mark D. Thompson, Vice President of Marketing, Irving, Texas CVB

1:45 to 2:30pm & 2:45-3:30 pm

Communicating Effectively:  Achievers throughout history have one thing in common – they know themselves. This means they don’t underestimate what they can do, they don’t sell themselves short and they know their own limitations. More importantly, by understanding themselves, they are able to develop plans to overcome their shortcomings and take full advantage of their strengths to improve their communication with others. This fun, interactive session was designed to help you win and achieve a greater degree of success in life and work. This seminar will open your eyes to a new way of viewing yourself and others and will allow you to discover how to communicate more effectively with even the most challenging of folks!
Speaker: Kelley Moore

1:45 to 2:30pm

Business Case for Social Responsibility: The research is clear: millions of Americans are paying attention to the behavior of the companies they may patronize.  AND, even in this economy, they are voting their approval with their wallets.  Corporate Social Responsibility, also known as CSR has taken on increasing importance in recent years, in part due to the erosion of trust of those in authority – corporate and government.  While many companies are jumping on this band wagon, others wonder whether this is just some ‘tree-hugging liberal” proposition.  Fortunately there are many case studies and statistics that document that when serious resources are directed to all 3 bottom lines – people, planet and profits – the dollar benefits are there.  This presentation is designed to make the business case for social responsibility and to reveal these three basic truths:
•    You can do well by doing good
•    There is demand in the marketplace for socially responsible companies
Speaker: Ann Ranson, President, CSR-3 Marketing

  • We welcome new or nearly-new: Contemporary interview-appropriate skirt and pant suits, attractive, crisp blouses, beautiful business casual separates, trousers/ dress pants, skirts, blazers/jackets, professional maternity and junior wear, sharp, stylish jewelry, handbags and scarves, pantyhose – any size or skin tone (NEW only, please)
  • We cannot currently accept: Used cosmetics, pantyhose, men's clothing or children's clothing
  • We request that all donations be: Appropriate for the workplace, on hangers (rather than in bags or boxes), cleaned and pressed, and free of strong odors (moth balls, smoke, body odor)

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION: Attitudes & Attire is a non-profit agency dedicated to promoting personal growth for women seeking self-sufficiency.  Clients of Attitudes & Attire are typically single mothers with little personal or financial support, diverse in age, education and ethnicity and often victims of abuse, generational poverty, addiction and physical disabilities.  All of the women in our program are overcoming adversity and barriers to finding a job. Many have completed some type of job training and are actively seeking employment to provide stability for their families.  Once a woman has taken a first step to become self-sufficient, Attitudes & Attire acts as a catalyst to help move them forward.  Since 1996, Attitudes & Attire has encouraged over 13,000 women to rediscover their own value and self-worth---vital qualities to securing a stable job and improving earning power.  Approximately 95% of the women who participate in our program are mothers who are struggling to overcome hardships, seek employment, and provide financial support for their children.  By helping clients build their self-esteem and self-confidence, everybody benefits-- families, society, and most importantly, each woman who takes control, rises up and stands on her own becoming a powerful role model for others.
