2:45 to 3:30pm Business Case for Social Responsibility: The research is clear: millions of Americans are paying attention to the behavior of the companies they may patronize. AND, even in this economy, they are voting their approval with their wallets. Corporate Social Responsibility, also known as CSR has taken on increasing importance in recent years, in part due to the erosion of trust of those in authority – corporate and government. While many companies are jumping on this band wagon, others wonder whether this is just some ‘tree-hugging liberal” proposition. Fortunately there are many case studies and statistics that document that when serious resources are directed to all 3 bottom lines – people, planet and profits – the dollar benefits are there. This presentation is designed to make the business case for social responsibility and to reveal these three basic truths: • You can do well by doing good • There is demand in the marketplace for socially responsible companies Speaker: Ann Ranson, President, CSR-3 Marketing

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION: Attitudes & Attire is a non-profit agency dedicated to promoting personal growth for women seeking self-sufficiency. Clients of Attitudes & Attire are typically single mothers with little personal or financial support, diverse in age, education and ethnicity and often victims of abuse, generational poverty, addiction and physical disabilities. All of the women in our program are overcoming adversity and barriers to finding a job. Many have completed some type of job training and are actively seeking employment to provide stability for their families. Once a woman has taken a first step to become self-sufficient, Attitudes & Attire acts as a catalyst to help move them forward. Since 1996, Attitudes & Attire has encouraged over 13,000 women to rediscover their own value and self-worth---vital qualities to securing a stable job and improving earning power. Approximately 95% of the women who participate in our program are mothers who are struggling to overcome hardships, seek employment, and provide financial support for their children. By helping clients build their self-esteem and self-confidence, everybody benefits-- families, society, and most importantly, each woman who takes control, rises up and stands on her own becoming a powerful role model for others.
